![]() Were you subscribed to any steam mods for eu4 recently? Then the 236850 should exist. If you saw other numbers in the workshop/content folder, these are the mod folders of other games. I am pretty sure I recognize 236850 from earlier though in one of my messages.236850 is the steam id of eu4. So I am going to assume I somehow deleted it while I deleted the eu4 folder or I messed this all up. There were many folders with numbers but I couldn't find 236850. Now I am looking for the workshop content and I found it. So I went to steam steamapps common found the Europa Universalis IV folder and I deleted it by right clicking. I don't usually feel safe messing with my files but this time I felt like I had to. It just silently fails early in the startup(usually during the Europa Universalis IV screen) and if it happens fast enough, the launcher gives you the "launching the game failed message". Unfortunately eu4 doesn't give any messages if it can't access the files. You probably created that problem when you tried to add eu4 to the exception list. So I assume Microsoft was never blocking it in the first place because when I did mess with the Microsoft access that is when I was starting to get the access error.You get the message about missing access to the game files if the launcher gets blocked.
